Good bye, NABISCO
Yamazaki Baking Co., Ltd., which has more than 70% of the market share of the bread industry in Japan, will discontinue the production of “Ritz” and “Oreo” next August due to the expiring of the trademark license between Yamazaki Baking and the US company, Mondelez International, Inc.
As “NABISCO” is also one of the registered trademarks owned by Mondelez, Yamazaki Baking will become unable to use it, and thus YAMAZAKI-NABISCO Co., Ltd., which is an affiliated company of Yamazaki Baking, will change their company name to “YAMAZAKI-BISCUIT” in September.
By the way, how is “NABISCO CUP” going, the famous football competition in the Japanese football league (J-league)?
In regard with this matter, it has been announced that Yamazaki Baking is going to discuss the name of the competition with the J-league.
