Idemitsu and Merck Sign OLED Patent Collaboration Agreement

Idemitsu, a major company in the petroleum refining and petrol sale industries, and Merck,
a leading Chemicals company recently signed a cross-licensing collaboration agreement
allowing them to use each other’s OLED patents.

Both companies own a variety of patents related to OLED materials. The parties believe
this agreement will help to broaden areas for developing OLED materials and accelerate
the generation of new OLED materials.

The companies expect to continue discussions to expand the collaboration to include other areas in the future.
