Invitation to Design a Mascot for the Tokyo Olympic Games

　 Starting in August the public will be invited to submit designs for a mascot for the Tokyo Olympic Games. People are invited to submit their designs on the website for The Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic for 2 weeks starting on August 1st.

　　After the committee selects 3 to 4 finalists, Japanese elementary school classes all over Japan will then vote for their favorite mascot at the end of the year, and the most popular character will be chosen as the mascot. However, the name of the mascot will be decided by a group of experts.

Because the selection for the Tokyo Olympic Games logo caused such a disturbance with regard to international trademark rights, people throughout the world have been paying close attention to the outcome of the selection of the mascot.
