Kumiko HAYASHI

BIOGRAPHYKumiko HAYASHI, studied chemistry while at Sophia University's Faculty of Science and Engineering. She then furthered her studies by focusing on Food Science at Ochanomizu University's Graduate School.
In 2015 Ms. Hayashi passed the Japanese patent attorney examination was registered as a patent attorney in Japan.
After graduating from university, she joined Mitsubishi Rayon Co., Ltd. where she worked on the development of optical disks in the Tokyo laboratory.
Ms. Hayashi then moved on to Asahi Glass Co., Ltd. where she worked to develop alkaline ion water purifiers and in collaboration with the intellectual property department applied for several patents.
At the Central Research Center in the Research and Development Department of Asahi Glass, she was assigned to the chemical engineer group where she was in charge of the development of new catalysts, purification technologies, and polymer manufacturing technologies. While in the chemical engineer group, the group applied for patents on the technology they invented.
After Asahi Glass, Ms. Hayashi joined the intellectual property firm of Kudo and Associates where she was responsible for preparing the specifications for food related patent applications as well as the prosecution of the applications.
While she was involved in research and development for a long time, Ms. Hayashi focused on development in applied fields, and pursued research with the division and team system.
Ms. Hayashi uses all of her knowledge gained through her previous technical and team experiences in order to collaborate with clients and tackle new challenges together.

PRACTICE AREASMs. Hayashi is a certified patent attorney who specializes in affairs related to Intellectual Property rights. She has done work in the areas of prosecution, prior art searches, trials, and oppositions related to patents, particularly in the areas of chemistry and food science.
