Momoko CHIBA
BIOGRAPHYMomoko CHIBA studied at molecular biology at Saitama University's Faculty of Science. She then continued her studies at the University of Tsukuba's Graduate School of Medical Science. She also completed some of the Ph.D. coursework in the Department of Pathology, Immunology, and Microbiology at Tokyo University.
Ms. Chiba's past experience includes working in the Biomedical Research Laboratories at Kureha Corporation. While there she was engaged in various areas of research including exploring the mechanism of action of antineoplastic agents, investigating the pharmacokinetics of antineoplastic agents and engaging in the development of new immunostimulants.
In 2010 Ms. Chiba began working for the Japan Patent Office where she was assigned to the 3rd Division and examined paints and patents related to adhesives.
She left the Patent Office and joined the Intellectual Property Department of Yamagata University where she was involved in promoting intellectual property strategies for the national university corporation.
Utilizing her abundant knowledge and her experience at the JPO, Ms. Chiba prosecutes patent applications for clients in a variety of areas including for pharmaceutical manufacturers, cosmetic manufacturers, paper manufacturers, and chemical manufacturers. She is especially skilled at providing advice on medicine related IP strategies.
Ms. Chiba always does her best to provide explanations of technical terms in an accessible manner. She also strives to analyze the smallest details of her clients' requests and use that information in order to more rigorously protect the intellectual property rights.
PRACTICE AREASMs. Chiba is an IP paralegal who specializes in affairs related to Intellectual Property rights. She has done work in the areas of patent prosecution and patent prior art searches particularly in the areas of organic chemistry and pharmaceuticals.
